As I settled into my new home in France, the sound of police sirens made way for birdsong. Instead of watching people, I was now watching birds.

The title came to me due to the rounded belly and pregnant appearance of the bird. However, in retrospect, I realised it also related to me slowing down into my new life and although I didn’t know it at the time, I was about to give birth to the Bird Series.
